Chinese Writing

Reeds in the Chinese Gardens

I drove towards the beach, and saw the reeds reflected in the water of the pond in Chinese Gardens. The geometric shapes formed by the reeds and their reflections made me think of writing. The heavy fog obscured the distance. Unfortunately, this shot required fighting through a patch of blackberries, which extracted their payment for passage in bandaid plastered hands.

Ray of Hope

One of the most currently popular places to take landscape photos is Antelope Canyon, near Page Arizona. You can see why. Sunlight bounces around in the twisty and narrow canyon and makes the sandstone glow as if it is lit from the inside.

Arizona is where I’ve been playing for the last couple of months. At first I wasn’t going to post the photos as they have nothing to do with Port Townsend. However, I like the photos, so here they are.

The Big Quilcene River

About halfway between the towns of Quilcene and Brinnon, just off U.S. 101, you’ll find a turnoff to Falls Campground. At the south end of the campground there are a couple of trails. One leads to a view of a tall but low volume waterfall. The other goes down to the Big Quilcene River.
