Incredible Dreadlocks

I was headed to Aldrich’s for lunch when I passed this lovely young woman and her family. I was struck by the colored yarn she had braided into her dreadlocks. It turns out that she does that professionally. It shows.

She graciously let me make a photo of her. He baby didn’t seem interested in the whole process. Her guy headed to the store.

Photos of Downtown Port Townsend

Friday was a perfect late summer day and I went for a photo walk, not that I need an excuse. Here are a few images from the walk.

Perfect day

With lovely weather, what could be better than having lunch on the Siren’s bar deck overlooking Port Townsend Bay.

What was that again?

Or one could sit at a sidewalk table for a phone conversation.

Fresh self-serve food

Not many places I know of have a working farm near the middle of the city. Collinwood Farm sits near the corner of F Street and San Juan Ave. The produce stand works as a self-serve grocery. There isn’t the kind of selection you’d expect in a grocery store as the produce¬†is only what’s been picked on the farm. There is also some coffee from Port Townsend Coffee Company and some local jams and jellies.

Tea Maven or Barteasta?

Lauren is a tea maven at Pippa’s Real Tea on Water Street. That’s what Pippa calls the people who work for her, and it’s appropriate as they know a lot about tea.

However, people who serve at a booze bar are called bartenders. People who serve at coffee bars are called baristas. There should be a name with the word bar in it for tea bar tenders.
